Additional Notes:
Shay arrived at Santa Cruz Lbr. Co. with no number or lettering and was their only locomotive. In the mid-1940's, railfans painted on #2 (previous owner's #) and initials for photographs, which Santa Cruz Lbr. Co. employees left on. According to Hank Johnston, the actualy number was #1 but never lettered on the Shay.
